    As we know that Robotics is the heart of Electronics and Communication Engineering. Similarly, Microcontroller is the heart of Robotics applications and now a day a new area is more demanding called Internet of things (IoT) again the heart of IoT is Controller. So, this blog list of top 09 IoT boards for development and prototyping in 2020.

     Which are the top 09 IoT boards for 2020? Before I answer to this question, let’s look at what is Internet of thing-IoT? IoT means a communication between devices over internet. Devices include vehicles to home appliances and with the help of internet a connectivity form and that allows these devices or things to interact and exchange data. So IoT includes taking Internet connectivity beyond standard devices, such as desktops, laptops, smartphones and tablets, to any object, including the everyday non-internet-enabled kind but they can also be remotely monitored and controlled. 

    All of the applications which make our life easier and enjoyable slowly using IoT technology. IoT is today being used for home automation, agriculture, manufacturing and medical care. IoT essentially means connecting hardware to the internet, that hardware is called IoT board or development board or prototyping board. 

    In this blog, we bring you this year’s top 09 prototyping boards are as follows:

    1. Arduino Uno Rev3

    Arduino Uno a microcontroller board supported the ATmega328P (datasheet). it’s 14 digital input/output pins (of which 6 are often used as PWM outputs), 6 analog inputs, a 16 MHz ceramic resonator (CSTCE16M0V53-R0), a USB connection, an influence jack, an ICSP header and a push.Arduino Uno is a microcontroller board based on the ATmega328P (datasheet).     1. ESP32 

    Features of the ESP32 include the following: Processors: CPU: Xtensa dual-core (or single-core) 32-bit LX6 microprocessor, operating at 160 or 240 MHz and performing at up to 600 DMIPS. Ultra low power (ULP) co-processor.

    1. ESP8266

    ESP8266 is a low-cost Wi-Fi microchip with full TCP/IP stack and microcontroller capability produced by Shanghai-based Chinese manufacturer Espressif Systems. Processor: L106 32-bit RISC microprocessor core based on the Tensilica Xtensa Diamond Standard 106Micro running at 80 MHz. 

    1. Teensy 4.0

    Teensy 4.0 is the latest Teensy, offering the fastest microcontroller and powerful peripherals in the Teensy 1.4 by 0.7 inch form factor. It features an ARM Cortex-M7 processor at 600MHz, with a NXP iMXRT1062 chip, the fastest microcontroller available today.

    1. Particle Boron

    A development board that lets one connect a mesh network to over a cellular service, Particle Boron can act as a standalone cellular endpoint or LTE enabled gateway for Particle Mesh networks. Based on the Nordic nRF52840 SoC (System on a Chip), it has a built-in battery charging circuitry. Getting a Boron gives one access to the Device Cloud (10 free micro networks up for grabs) along with three free months of device Cloud access using a cellular gateway. 

    1. Beagle Board: Beagle Bone Black

    The Beagle Bone Black is the newest member of the Beagle Board family. It is a lower-cost; high-expansion focused Beagle Board using a low cost Sitara XAM3359AZCZ100 Cortex A8 ARM processor from Texas Instruments. It is similar to the Beagle bone, but with some features removed and some features added. 

    1. NVIDIA Jetson Nano 

    NVIDIA Developer Kit is a small, powerful computer that lets you run multiple neural networks in parallel for applications like image classification, object detection, segmentation, and speech processing. All in an easy-to-use platform that runs in as little as 5 watts. 

    1. ODROID boards

    ODROID refers to a series of single-board computers and tablet computers created by the South Korean company, Hardkernel Co, Ltd. The word ODROID is a portmanteau of open + Android, and yet the hardware is not actually open because some parts of the design are retained by the company.  Several ODROID systems are capable of running not only Android, but also regular Linux distributions. The ODROID boards are quite similar to Raspberry Pi, and in many areas, they fare better as well. They typically have a powerful CPU, more RAM and a higher price.

    1. Raspberry Pi 4 

    The all-new Raspberry Pi 4 Model B is the latest version of the low-cost Raspberry Pi computer. This credit-card sized electronic board comes with several improvements. The following feature which is as follow:

    • 5GHz 64-bit quad-core ARM Cortex-A72 CPU (ARM v8, BCM2837)
    • 1GB, 2GB, or 4GB RAM (LPDDR4)
    • On-board wireless LAN (dual-band 802.11 b/g/n/ac)

    • Gigabit Ethernet.
    • Power-over-Ethernet (this will require a PoE HAT)
